I hate lighting. I'm an outdoor sunshine photography girl. I mean, I can do lights, but I really like sunshine better than anything. Even when it's a crazy bright day, shadows seem to be less harsh in the sun. HOWEVER. Every once in a while, an opportunity comes along that just screams dramatic lighting and I love it. A late-night shock-replacing night in the garage was that opportunity. That garnered a few fun photos, which probably mean nothing to you people. But I love them regardless. And yes, I'm aware the last one is blurry. But I think a little blur makes for a cool photo sometimes. And I mean... jumping off cars? Ya' gotta' capture that.

Chris & Megan
Chris and Megan have been dating for 5+ years, and wanted some cute couple pictures. Chris came down to visit Megan, and we went out on a Friday night and then again the following day in the afternoon. It started to rain on us on Saturday, but it made for perfect pictures that just scream fall. Megan also wanted some pictures with her horse, and on Saturday her two dogs accompanied us to the park. These two are best friends, and it was a blast taking pictures of them and getting to know them.
A&A
Although it was a short shoot, I had a blast taking pictures of A&A on the plaza on labor day weekend--I knew I wanted some pictures by the blue mosaic steps, but we stopped at the doorway, alley and stairway on a whim, which is my favorite kind of photography. They had an idea of the kinds of photos they wanted, which made this an extremely fun, intimate shoot. They were themselves, full of personality and heartfelt kisses, as though there was no one else around. They were completely comfortable in front of the camera and a blast to work with. Congrats A&A!
Jen and Patrick
Jen and Patrick were engaged in the fall of 2010 and married in the summer of 2011. I was in the wedding and couldn't take too many wedding pictures, but I got to take pictures of the couple on a beautiful fall day at the Nelson-Atkins art museum in Kansas City, MO. They are so obviously in love and happy with each other... and it made my job extremely easy. Congrats J&P!
